Empowerment of women: the SWEDD-Guinea project to the aid of women’s groups in the regions of Kankan, Faranah and Labé.
As a prelude to the departure of the winning teachers from the health schools under the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Employment who have benefited from Master’s training scholarships in the Health Centers of Excellence in the sub-region, the coordination of the SWEDD Guinea project which finances the training was on Tuesday at the premises of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, with the said winners.
They are among the 12 laureates from technical education to benefit from this two-year Master’s course. They will be distributed in the Health Centers of Excellence in Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire). For the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, support for the training of these teachers is part of a process of strengthening the capacities of trainers, with a view to ultimately achieving greater qualification in the professional environment. Because they » will learn more to better also give knowledge to those who will be in vocational schools , » said Rose Pola Pricemou.
But it is especially on the side of the Ministry of Technical Education that we are delighted with the prospect that support for this training of trainers draws for the department. “ The 12 people will obtain Master’s degrees in gynecology and obstetrics, in health school management. It makes it possible to have executives capable of rethinking curricula and continuing training in the field of health , ”said Alpha Bacar Barry. This will certainly allow, according to the minister, Guinea to set up schools of excellence, to “ reproduce these trainers ”.

Guinea is committed to capturing the demographic dividend. This places the development of human capital at the heart of public policies and has therefore just been selected for the second phase of the SWEDD project. It is in this context that the project through the World Bank has supported this capacity building project for teachers in health schools under the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training. » It was an opportunity for the SWEDD project to work directly with the Ministry of Technical Education to identify laureates who will be sent to these different centers in order to be able to obtain Masters in vocational training related to gynecology themes. “, indicated Mamadou Safaiou Bah, coordinator of the SWEDD project.
The beneficiaries, for their part, undertake to do everything possible to meet the many challenges they will face during this training. They also renewed their promise to return to serve the country after this training.
It should be noted that the 12 winners will be distributed in the different countries as follows: 2 Niger; 5 in Bamako and 5 others in Abidjan.
